La nouvelle \u00e9quipe a eu la chance de rencontrer la Communaut\u00e9 Kenyane au S\u00e9n\u00e9gal (KENSEN), tr\u00e8s accueillante et bien organis\u00e9e sous la houlette de Mr. Godfrey Mawaa et de Mr Franklin Omondi.<\/p>\n
L’ouverture de la mission a \u00e9t\u00e9 historique puisqu’il s’agissait de la premi\u00e8re Ambassade Kenyane en Afrique de l’Ouest Francophone. La pr\u00e9sentation des lettres de cr\u00e9ance par l’Ambassadeur MUHINDI \u00e0 S.E. Mr Macky Sall, Pr\u00e9sident de la R\u00e9publique du S\u00e9n\u00e9gal, le 10 mars 2020, a ouvert de nouvelles perspectives pour renforcer la coop\u00e9ration bilat\u00e9rale avec la R\u00e9publique du S\u00e9n\u00e9gal, qui dispose d’une mission r\u00e9sidente \u00e0 Nairobi.<\/p>\n
L’Ambassade est actuellement accr\u00e9dit\u00e9e aupr\u00e8s de la R\u00e9publique du Mali, de la Guin\u00e9e-Bissau et de la Gambie. Par l’interm\u00e9diaire de son Ambassade, le Kenya souhaite \u00e9tablir des relations politiques et socio-\u00e9conomiques solides et mutuellement b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques avec le S\u00e9n\u00e9gal et les pays de la sous-r\u00e9gion, en s’appuyant sur l’Agenda 2063 de l’Afrique et en tirant notamment profit des perspectives et du potentiel offert par la Zone de libre-\u00e9change continentale africaine (ZLECA).<\/p>\n
Install\u00e9e dans le contexte de la pand\u00e9mie mondiale COVID 19 et des d\u00e9fis qui en d\u00e9coulent, l\u2019Ambassade a n\u00e9anmoins facilit\u00e9 de nombreux \u00e9v\u00e9nements b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques, notamment des visites de hauts dirigeants du secteur priv\u00e9 et public.<\/p>\n
La mission a \u00e9t\u00e9 particuli\u00e8rement honor\u00e9e de recevoir S.E. le Pr\u00e9sident William Samoei Ruto, qui a officiellement proc\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019ouverture de l’Ambassade le 26 janvier 2023.<\/p>\n

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE EMBASSY IN DAKAR<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\nThe Government of the Republic of Kenya, opened its resident embassy in Dakar, Republic of Senegal, on 8th<\/sup> January, 2020.\u00a0 The pioneer \u00a0\u00a0group of officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were Ambassador Purity W. Muhindi, (MBS) Mr. Anthony Safari, First Counsellor, Mr. James Karani, Financial Attach\u00e9 and Ms. Lilian Obonyo, the Administrative Attach\u00e9. Mr. Danny Mukhobi Ambale Dishon, Second Secretary, joined the staff in September the same year. The new team was fortunate to find a welcoming, well organised Kenyan Community in Senegal (KENSEN), under the very able leadership of Mr Godfrey Mawaa and Franklin Omondi.<\/p>\nThe opening of the mission was historic as it was the first Kenyan embassy in Francophone West Africa. The presentation of \u00a0\u00a0credentials by Amb Muhindi, to H.E. Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal on 10th<\/sup> March, 2020, opened new opportunities for more enhanced engagements in bilateral cooperation with the Republic of Senegal, which has a resident mission in Nairobi.<\/p>\nThe Embassy is currently accredited to the Republics of Mali, Guinea Bissau and the Gambia. Through the Embassy, Kenya\u2019s vision is to build strong mutually beneficial political and socio-economic relations with Senegal and countries in the region, underpinned by Africa\u2019s Agenda 2063, leveraging in particular on the prospects and potential offered by the Africa Continental Free Trade Area.<\/p>\n
The Embassy, which was established under the shadow of the COVID 19 global pandemic, and its resultant challenges, has nonetheless facilitated numerous positive developments, including high level visits by private and public sector officials.<\/p>\n
The mission was singularly honoured to receive H.E.
